I like the way this unit slices the apples. I noticed that the base does not sit on plates very well. the apples tend to shoot out in a wide area once they go through the slicer. This unit should not be use by small childern because of the sharp blades. The instructions do warn that the unit has sharp blades, but no warning is given that parental supervision be provided around small childern.
